Expert Witness and Litigation Consulting Services
Torchwood Enterprises provides litigation consulting services to insurance companies and legal counsel, defense and plaintiff, regarding chemical plant accidents. We focus on understanding the cause-and-effect relationships when these accidents occur. Dr. Prindle has assisted in several plant incident investigations. When possible, his expertise in chemical process development, simulation, and design are used to support his conclusions.
Our process analysis and development expertise also allows us to provide unique insight into several aspects of intellectual property litigation related to chemical processes. Dr. Prindle is co-inventor on eight US patents, six European patents, and one Japanese patent covering a range of process and composition of matter concepts.
About Our Expert
Before beginning his teaching career as a university professor, Dr. Prindle was a corporate-wide consultant for over 15 years in process analysis, development, and design at the Ethyl and Albemarle Corporations. His extensive knowledge of ASPEN PlusĀ® allowed him to rapidly assist in the improvements of a majority of the commercial chemical processes Ethyl/Albemarle operated. While at Albemarle, Dr. Prindle founded and directed a lab for over a decade which standardized techniques for rapid commercialization of chemical processes from highly automated lab- and pilot-scale units. He also pioneered the development of many of the safety testing methodologies used to ensure safe operation of all Albemarle processes and helped investigate many of the industrial incidents which occurred during that time.
Dr. Prindle semi-retired from corporate life and has taught at both Tulane University and the University of Louisiana for the past 15 years. During this period, he has taught over half the major chemical engineering courses in the undergraduate curriculum. He has received numerous teaching awards for his ability to clearly convey his knowledge in terms his students can understand. As a university professor and as principal engineer at Torchwood Enterprises, Dr. Prindle has consulted for Argonne National Labs and corporations in the areas of energy efficiency, carbon footprint analysis and in the development, simulation, and design of novel chemical processes.
